The 19th century made the dream of an eternal record of the world come true, in a way which was not possible earlier. Displaying a period of time required something different from paintings, graphics or sculpturing, some-thing truly made from the new Era. So, technology was employed and with the assistance of engineers, chemists, physicists and of course direct involve-ment of spirit of art, photography emerged from the combination of technol-ogy and art. Photography brought Duals to the sphere of art: Art-Industry, Unit view-Multitude view, Originality-Imitation which were not common earlier. The present paper assumes the existence of “Duals” and analyzes their interactive functions. Referring to the historical and aesthetic contexts shows that dual characteristics, however, at ﬁrst, illustrated the nature and symbols of modern world; but then, they became the Achilles heel, helping the transition of Modern Era and the advent of Post-Modern Era although the Modern Era has neither had a deﬁnite life nor a certain death.
