Decorated as one of the most important steps in the evolution of Islamic art and architecture, the interior and exterior surfaces of the walls and other ar-chitectural elements are of paramount importance. This array of decorative patterns that are a treasure trove of value addition and beauty, expression of meaning and purpose in Islamic architecture is particularly shrine.Khuzestan as the gateway for Islam and shi ism possesses Shrines of the children or grandchildren of imams that have become a source of Islamic architectural decorations.
Among the numerous shrines of the province, according to historical docu-ments the monument at shrine of Abdullah (AS) belongig to the period of Almstnsrballh Abbasid caliph in the seventh century AH (629 AD) and rebuilt in the period of Safavid and Qajar, decorated with beautiful brick arrays has been valuable.
The main objectives of the research in this paper include: recognizing of deco-rative elements and image building of the shrine of Abdullah. (AS) and assess-ing and classifying a variety of motifs existing in this building.
The main research questions and hypotheses in this article also include Ast. svalat: 1 –what are the major designs painted on the building? 2 - Do the designs for the monument include semantic properties? Assumptions: 1 - in the creation of visual elements in the sample studied painting techniques of stone inscriptions, painting, tiling seem to have been used. 2 - motifs used in the Holy Abdullahshrine recemble those used in other religious sites in the 7th century.
