Iranian Philosophical Insights about Light and its Embodiment in Painting
This study seeks to answer the question of how light has been manifested in Iranian miniature and if this kind of embodiment is related to the Iranian philo-sophical insight about the divine lights and the kingdom of heaven. In order to find an answer to this question, at first, Iranian intellectual, philosophical and intuitive schools with respect to light are explained in light of their transposition dates (Mazdaean, Manichean, Islamic and mystical lines of thinking). While dis-cussing each of these schools with reference to written documents, we examine the symbolic effects of the realization of these concepts in Iranian miniature. Also, characteristics of the kingdom of heaven and its relation to the world of miniature are studied. Finally, we have discussed the conformity between Iranian philosophical insights into the light and its embodiment methods in miniature, using witness pictures

A Study of Implementation Methods in Title Sequence and the Ways it Relates to its
Respective Movie
As important as it may seem’ categorizing title sequences based on their technique and relation to their respective movies is not paid enough attention yet. There had been times that titles performed in an illustrative manner had been confused with animation style sequences which is scientifically unacceptable. The present study tries to dem-onstrate the specific methods in which a title sequence is produced by study nearly 40 numbers of title sequences well known in the history of cinema. This study also tries to point out the proficiency required in each method and to specify the role of writer, director, editor and graphic designer in order to clarify readers’ perspective and deepen their understanding of this form of graphic arts.

A Survey of Culture and Visual Arts of Gypsies in Europe
Sometimes called the Romanesque, gypsies who travel frequently are scat-tered all over the world. Over the recent decades, Europe has witnessed a boom in Gypsy artists who have introduced themselves to the literary world and had their rightful place in the European artistic and literary world. Gyp-sies’ hobo features allow them to borrow from the myths and culture of the host nations and eventually integrate them with their art, which is formed from their philosophical perspective about the world, in order to create an intercultural art using their inherent practices, such as extemporaneousness, instability and decorations. This current trend which is known as the art of gypsy has passed the modernization process in Europe and like other artistic currents is moving toward future. Besides examining this culture and intro-ducing some of the contemporary gypsy artists in Europe, the present study looks deeper into the visual structure and the dominant elements of this art. Accordingly, their carriages and decorations can also be mainly divided into six major categories. In the visual works of the gypsy author Katarziyna Polak which are examined closely, recurring motifs such as gypsy wheel, guardian angels, goddess of Justice, hand and dragon are recognizable.

An Analysis of Concept Transfer in a Sign Design Workshop
Sign design is one of the main graphics training courses taught at universi-ties. Accordingly, to teach this course, an assessment was done to select the best teaching method from myriad existing methods. Classification of the “aesthetic concept transfer” has always had challenges with it but unless the issue is negotiated, the problems will not be resolved. Hence, the present study aimed to explain the ways which are close to the current state of ad-mission and level of student talent. In recent years, graphics professors have been plagued with many problems that are related largely to the diversity of students. It seems that the present students are distinctly different from the students of two decades ago. Thus, considering gender and age differences together with students’ IQ in similar circumstances, we find it reasonable to identify new and more effective ways of teaching art. In this study, eleven measurement models were used to record output data for each experimental group. The eleven models were identified as the most important ones to the expansion of concept transfer talk. Finally, activities conducted according to the three methods were measured using the eleven models. The study was conducted at Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz and Islamic Azad Uni-versity, Abadan Branch in the academic years of 1389 to 1390.

Reed Homes a Distinctive Aspect of Sustain ability in Architecture
Examining the concept of sustainable architecture and its various aspects related to other areas associated with architecture like structure and building technology, this paper attempts to provide a definition of sustainable archi-tecture, mainly in terms of the nature of the concept of sustain ability in architecture. The advantage of such a definition is that many architectural works with unstable structures or declining technology, if they have the es-sence of architectural stability in them, find the opportunity to enter the do-main of stable architecture. Thereby, it is hoped that revival and employment of hidden capacities in such works be taken as the legacies of sustainable architecture. Architecture of reed-based homes in lagoons in southern Iran (Khuzestan Province) is a sample case which this study tries to elaborate on. The research method is interpretive-historical in this study which is con-ducted using library resources and field studies.

Providing Desirability Principles and Criteria for Upgrading Space Qualities of the River Side in Dezful In area between ancient bridge and Roodband tomb
The urban fabric, ancient hydraulic constructions through the River Dez and the river itself create a potential in the city of Dezful that would be turned into a unique public space, playing a significant role to improve the urban identity of the city. This study suggests a set of concepts and design techniques to achieve such a public space. The paper is the result of a research on the notion of space and place in urban design process. The re-search was hosted at Islamic Azad University of Dezful in 2010. The study targeted the South bank of Dezful River – between Ancient Bridge and the Roodband tomb, one of the sites, where ancient hydraulic constructions are located. The research was a comparative case study; and qualitative analyses were employed to achieve the results. The research proposed suggestions to design the riverside, aiming at up-grading the quality of the urban landscape at the South bank of Dez River in Dezful. The study can be considered a model for architects and urban designers to deal with similar cases.

Optical Illusion In the Works New Illustrators
Among various styles and approaches to illustration, creating opti-cal illusion and deceptive images has attracted the attention of avant-garde illustrators. The approach thus has had a significant influence on contemporary illustrations. The present study seeks to examine and analyze characteristics of 50 selected works of illustration by 5 distin-guished avant-garde illustrators who attempted to use optical illusion and deceptive images in their works. In this study, a qualitative and de-scriptive method was used to present analyses and comparisons of the illustrations. In doing so, the works of Rene Magritte, M. C. Escher, Rob Gonzalvez, Octavio Ocampo and Jos De Mey were analyzed with re-spect to form, content, composition, color, light, style, structure, lines, etc. Also, common characteristics of these works were presented based on frequency of occurrences; and, consequently, theoretical and prac-tical conclusions were drawn.
