Abstract
Introduction: The painting «Feast in the Garden (ziyafat dar golgasht)» from the Shahnameh, attributed to Ibrahim Sultan, is a prominent example of Shiraz School painting from the Timurid period. It depicts a scene of royal splendor, leisure, and aristocratic companionship through an illustrative and ceremonial narrative. The aim of this research is to examine the relationships among gender, power, and representation in this painting from a critical feminist perspective, showing how this work, beyond its cheerful appearance, reproduces or challenges gender relations.
Research Method: This article adopts a feminist approach, emphasizing Nancy Fraser’s views and drawing on the concepts of recognition, status subordination, and equal participation, thereby enabling an analysis of subjectivity within subjugation, beauty within domination, and spectatorship as tools for elimination.
Findings: The analysis of this painting revealed three central findings: First, the visual system and composition of gazes place women in the position of the object of the gaze, meaning bodies to be seen and for visual pleasure, depriving them of the subjectivity of the gaze. Second, the spatial division of the image creates a kind of «powerless centrality» for women: the woman is present at the geometric center of the image, but she is removed from the semantic center and from independent agency, serving instead to represent the grandeur of the court. Third, alongside this system of dominance and symbolic silence, implicit signs of quiet resistance and cracks in the power structure can be traced in the figures’ visual slips.
Conclusion: The aforementioned painting is an example of injustice at the level of recognition and the reproduction of status subordination, in such a way that gender justice is appropriated in favor of the royal status order. This research shows that Persian painting requires critical readings that reveal the subtexts of power, gender, and the politics of representation within the core of artistic forms.

مقدمه: نگاره «ضیافت در گلگشت» از شاهنامه منسوب به ابراهیم سلطان، یکی از نمونه‌های برجستۀ نگارگری مکتب شیراز در دورۀ تیموری است که در قالب روایتی تصویری و آیینی، صحنه‌ای از شکوه سلطنتی، فراغت و هم‌نشینی اشرافی را بازنمایی می‌کند. هدف این پژوهش، واکاوی مناسبات جنسیت، قدرت و بازنمایی در این نگاره از منظر فمینیسم انتقادی است تا نشان دهد این اثر چگونه، فراتر از ظاهر فرح‌بخش خود، مناسبات جنسیتی را بازتولید یا به چالش می‌کشد.
روش پژوهش: این مقاله با اتخاذ رویکردی فمینیستی و با تأکید بر آرای نانسی فریزر و به‌کارگیری مفاهیم بازشناسی، فرودستی منزلتی و مشارکت برابر، امکان تحلیل سوژگی در دل انقیاد، زیبایی در بستر سلطه و تماشا را به‌مثابه ابزاری برای حذف فراهم می‌کند.
یافته‌ها: تحلیل این نگاره سه یافتۀ محوری را آشکار ساخت: نخست، نظام دیداری و ترکیب نگاه‌ها، زنان را در موقعیت ابژه تماشا، یعنی بدن‌هایی برای دیده شدن و لذت بصری، قرار داده و آنان را از سوژگی نگاه محروم می‌کند. دوم، تقسیم فضایی تصویر، نوعی «مرکزیت بی‌قدرت» را برای زنان رقم می‌زند؛ به این معنا که زن در مرکز هندسی تصویر حضور دارد، اما از مرکز معنایی و عاملیت مستقل حذف شده و در خدمت بازنمایی شکوه دربار قرار می‌گیرد. سوم، در کنار این نظام سلطه و سکوت نمادین، نشانه‌هایی ضمنی از مقاومت خاموش و شکاف در ساختار قدرت، از طریق لغزش‌های بصری فیگورها، قابل ردیابی است.
نتیجه‌گیری: نگارۀ یادشده مصداقی از بی‌عدالتی در سطح بازشناسی و بازتولید فرودستی منزلتی است، به‌گونه‌ای که عدالت جنسیتی به نفع نظم منزلتی سلطنت مصادره می‌شود. این پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که نگارگری ایرانی نیازمند خوانش‌هایی انتقادی است که زیرمتن‌های قدرت، جنسیت و سیاست بازنمایی را در بطن فرم‌های هنری آشکار سازند.
